The Osteopathic Basic Program for Working Adults is a specially designed educational program aimed at providing foundational knowledge and skills in osteopathy to individuals who are already employed and seeking to enhance their understanding of this field. This program recognizes the time constraints faced by working professionals and offers a flexible schedule to accommodate their needs. It aims to equip participants with a solid understanding of osteopathic principles and techniques, enabling them to apply this knowledge in their professional lives.

Osteopathic Basic Programme

Orientation and Introduction to Osteopathy:

  • An overview of osteopathy as a healthcare discipline.
  • Introduction to the history, philosophy, and principles of osteopathy.
  • Understanding the scope of practice and ethical considerations in osteopathic care.

Anatomy and Physiology:

  • In-depth study of the musculoskeletal system, including bones, muscles, and joints.
  • Exploration of the nervous system and its relationship to osteopathic practice.
  • Understanding the circulatory, respiratory, and other physiological systems relevant to osteopathy.

Osteopathic Techniques:

  • Introduction to various osteopathic techniques, such as soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, and muscle energy techniques.
  • Hands-on training in the application of osteopathic techniques under the guidance of experienced instructors.
  • Understanding the indications, contraindications, and safety considerations associated with each technique.

Assessment and Diagnosis:

  • Developing skills in patient assessment, including history-taking and physical examination.
  • Learning to identify common musculoskeletal dysfunctions and imbalances.
  • Introduction to diagnostic tools and imaging techniques used in osteopathic practice.
